A Long Island man wanted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend was shot and killed Wednesday, Sept. 9 outside a hotel in Massachusetts, police said.
Brandon William Hampson, 55, stabbed Rachel Frislid, 62, to death inside her home in Sayville, NY, on Thursday, Sept. 3, the Suffolk County (NY) Police Department said Thursday, Sept. 10.
Authorities found Hampson Wednesday, Sept. 9 outside the French King Restaurant and Motel in Erving, MA around 9:15 p.m. smoking a cigarette, Worcester County (MA) District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said.

A yacht owner faces multiple charges after a young employee said he allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted her aboard a vessel in Nantucket Harbor last month, according to a news report.
Christian Bradley Williams, 54, of Florida, was arraigned Friday, Sept. 4, in connection with the alleged Aug. 9 attack. The 22-year-old woman had started working as a deckhand aboard his yacht, Chimera, in June. She received housing on the boat in exchange for the work.

Russell J. Long, 46, of Ellenville, was arrested for the shooting that occurred around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 in Ellenville, New York State Police said.

An already-convicted burglar who broke into a Rockland County apartment and rummaged through the victim's belongings, including medication and money, will spend years in state prison, prosecutors said.
Orangetown resident Wesleigh Gilsenan, 42, was sentenced on Wednesday, Sept. 9, to nine years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision, the Rockland County District Attorney's Office announced.
